This page explains how BestMonitorFinder chooses the products in its guides and what our recommendations are, and are not, based on.
What our picks are based on
- Manufacturer specifications. For a monitor, that means panel type, resolution, refresh rate, response time, color coverage, brightness and HDR rating, ports, stand adjustment and warranty.
- Warranty and support. Warranty length and what it covers.
- Owner feedback. We read low and middle ratings as well as high ones, looking for recurring problems such as early failures, missing parts or performance that falls short of the listing.
- Fit for the stated need. Products that don’t meet the need a guide is about are left out, even if they’re popular.
What we don’t do
- We don’t claim to have tested products we haven’t used. When a writer has used a product, the article says so.
- We don’t accept payment for inclusion or ranking.
- We don’t present marketing claims as facts. Figures quoted from a listing are the maker’s stated figures, not our measurements.
